CTD T 6.25/80MG contains Telmisartan and Chlorthalidone
WHAT CTD T 6.25/80MG IS USED FOR?
It is used to,
Treat high blood pressure (hypertension)
Treat heart failure
Help reduce the fluid retention that occurs with some kidney or liver diseases
Treat diabetes insipidus
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS:
TALK TO DOCTOR
Tell your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
Are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredient Telmisartan, Chlorthalidone or any of the other ingredients of CTD T 6.25/80MG
Have severe kidney or liver problems
Have low blood levels of potassium which can cause muscle weakness, muscle twitching or abnormal heartbeat
Have low blood levels of sodium which can cause tiredness, confusion, muscle twitching, fits or coma
Have high blood levels of calcium which can cause loss of appetite, tiredness or muscle weakness
Have ever had gout or kidney stones
Have Addison?s disease (which is a condition where your adrenal gland is not producing enough steroids)
PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING
If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed speak to your doctor before taking CTD T 6.25/80MG
CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS
Your doctor will choose a suitable dose based on your child?s age and weight
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements or tell your doctor if you are taking the following medicines:
Digoxin
Lithium
Medicines used to treat pain and arthritis, called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including COX-2 inhibitors
Ramipril, medicines used to treat your high blood pressure or heart problem
Diuretic
DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:
Take CTD T 6.25/80MG exactly as your doctor tells you to take it
Your doctor will tell you how much CTD T 6.25/80MG to take and when to take it
Do not change your dose unless your doctor tells you to
Take this medicine one time each day at the same time
Take this medicine with or without food
If you take too much CTD T 6.25/80MG
If you take too much CTD T 6.25/80MG call your doctor, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away
If you miss a dose of CTD T 6.25/80MG
Take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose, do not take the missed dose. Take the next dose at your regular time
If you stop taking a dose of CTD T 6.25/80MG
Do not stop taking your tablets suddenly without your doctors advice
SIDE EFFECTS OF CTD T 6.25/80MG:
SERIOUS
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Telmisartan
• Injury or death to your unborn baby
• Low blood pressure
• Take water pills (diuretics)
• Are on a low-salt diet
• Get dialysis treatments
• Have heart problems
• Get sick with vomiting or diarrhoea
• Swelling in your feet, ankles, or hands
• Unexplained weight gain
• High potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia)
• Swelling of the face, tongue, throat
• Difficulty breathing
• Blistering of the skin or rash
Chlorthalidone
• Muscles feel weak or will not work properly
• Irregular heartbeat
COMMON
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Telmisartan
• Sinus pain and congestion (sinusitis)
• Back pain
• Diarrhea
Chlorthalidone
• Low blood levels of potassium which can cause muscle weakness, muscle twitching or abnormal heartbeat
• Increased blood levels of uric acid
• Increased blood levels of cholesterol
• Low levels of sodium which can cause tiredness, confusion, muscle twitching, fits or coma
• Low levels of magnesium
• High blood sugar levels which can cause tiredness, weakness or feeling thirsty
• Nettle rash, skin rash
• Dizziness, loss of appetite
• Upset stomach
• Impotence in men
UNCOMMON
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Chlorthalidone
• Gout which causes pain and swelling in the joints
RARE
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Chlorthalidone
• Increased calcium in the blood which can cause agitation, sore eyes, abdominal pain
• Sugar in the urine (this would show up when your doctor or nurse tests your urine)
• Worsening of diabetes
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes caused by liver or blood problems (jaundice)
• Increased sensitivity of your skin to sunlight
• Abnormal heartbeat the symptoms of which include palpitations and fainting
• Headache
• Stomach pain
• Reduction in blood platelets which increases the risk of bruising or bleeding
• Severe reduction in the number of white blood cells which makes infection more likely
• An abnormally high number of eosinophils (type of white blood cell) in the blood
• Breathing problems
• Problems with your kidneys
VERY RARE
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Chlorthalidone
• Low levels of chloride in the blood, symptoms include dry mouth, thirst, weakness, lethargy, drowsiness, restlessness, seizures, confusion, headache, muscle pains or cramps, hypotension
• Inflammation of the pancreas which causes severe stomach and back pain

Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
Keep out of the reach and sight of children
Do not take this medicine after the expiry date
