Patients with type 2 diabetes with peripheral neuropathy

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
Are allergic to metformin or mecobalamin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Have kidney problem
Have liver problems
Have uncontrolled diabetes
CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant you should always consult with doctor before using this medicine
Children & Adolescents
Consult with your doctor before giving this medicine to children
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines including:
Neomycin
Amino salicylic acid
Histamine H2-antagonists
Omeprazole
Colchicine
Oral contraceptives
NSAID and COX-2-inhibitors, such as ibuprofen and celecoxib
Certain medicines for the treatment of high blood pressure (ACE inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor antagonists)
Beta-2 agonists such as salbutamol or terbutaline (used to treat asthma)
Corticosteroids (used to treat a variety of conditions, such as severe inflammation of the skin or in asthma)
Other medicines used to treat diabetes
DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
The tablet can be swallowed with a drink of water
If you take more BIGOMET M
If you have taken a lot more tablets than you should, speak to your doctor straightaway
If you forget to take BIGOMET M
If you miss a dose don’t worry. Miss this dose and carry on with the normal routine
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take the next dose at the usual time
If you stop taking BIGOMET M
Do not stop taking this medication until your doctor instructs you to
SIDE EFFECTS OF BIGOMET M:
SERIOUS
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
• Rash
• Anorexia, nausea/vomiting and diarrhea
• Headache
• Anaphylactoid reaction
• Hot sensation
• Diaphoresis
COMMON
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
• Digestive problems, such as feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting), diarrhea, bellyache (abdominal pain) and loss of appetite
Changes in taste
VERY RARE
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
• Lactic acidosis marked by vomiting, bellyache (abdominal pain) with muscle cramps, a general feeling of not being well with severe tiredness, and difficulty in breathing
• Skin reactions such as redness of the skin (erythema), itching or an itchy rash (urticaria)
• Abnormalities in liver function tests or hepatitis (inflammation of the liver, this may cause tiredness, loss of appetite, weight loss, with or without yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)
STORAGE:
Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
