INTRODUCTION
PROGYNOVA 2MG contains Estradiol which belongs to Estrogen derivative. It is a Hormone replacement therapy (HRT). As age progresses, ovaries make less hormones and will no longer produce it after you have been through the menopause. It can be used in peri- and postmenopausal women. During the menopause, the amount of the oestrogen produced by a woman?s body drops. This can cause symptoms such as hot face, neck and chest (“hot flushes”). This medicine helps in relieving these symptoms after menopause. After the menopause some women may develop fragile bones (osteoporosis). If you are at an increased risk of fractures due to osteoporosis and other medicines are not suitable for you, you can use It is used to prevent osteoporosis after menopause.
Take PROGYNOVA 2MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine whole, do not crush or chew. It can be taken with or without food. The common side effects are swollen breast, headache and nausea. Before using, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems. It is not recommended for use in adolescents or children.

HOW PROGYNOVA 2MG WORKS

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea:
Stick to simple normal meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.
Stomach pain:

ALLERGY
Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Estradiol.

INTERACTIONS
Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following,
Barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone, carbamazepine and oxcarbazepine, topiramate and felbamate (used for epilepsy)
Rifampicin, rifabutin (used to treat tuberculosis)
Nevirapine, efavirenz, ritonavir and nelfinavir (used to treat HIV infection)
St Johns Wort (herbal medicine)
Griseofulvin, fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole and voriconazole (used to treat fungal infection)
Clarithromycin and erythromycin (treats bacterial infections)
Verapamil and diltiazem (used to treat heart diseases)
