BLISTO TRIO 2MG contains active ingredients called Glimepiride, Metformin and Voglibose
WHAT BLISTO TRIO 2MG IS USED FOR?
BLISTO TRIO 2MG is used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
TALK TO DOCTOR
Talk to your doctor before taking BLISTO TRIO 2MG, if you:
Are allergic to BLISTO TRIO 2MG or to any of its ingredients
Have kidney problems
Have heart failure that is treated with medicines
Have a condition called metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis
Drink a lot of alcohol
Have Inflammatory bowel disease, colonic ulcerations or partial intestinal obstructions and patients being predisposed to intestinal obstruction
Have chronic disorders associated with marked disorders of digestion or absorption, with conditions that may deteriorate because of increased gas formation in the intestine
Have renal function impairment
Have gastro-intestinal disorders
Have insulin dependent diabetes
Are in a diabetic coma
PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING
Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, or breast feeding or planning to become pregnant
BLISTO TRIO 2MG may pass into breast milk
CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS
BLISTO TRIO 2MG is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age
DRIVING & USING MACHINES
Your ability to concentrate or react may be reduced if your blood sugar is lowered (hypoglycaemia) or raised (hyperglycaemia) or if you develop visual problems because of such conditions
Please ask your doctor whether you can drive a car and use machines
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including:
Phenylbutazone, azopropazone, oxyphenbutazone, used to treat pain and inflammation
Insulin or other medicines to treat diabetes mellitus
Anti-arrhythmic agents used to control abnormal heart beat such as disopyramide
Fibrates, used to lower cholesterol level in blood
Enalapril, used in the management of high blood pressure
Fluoxetine, MAO inhibitors
Allopurinol, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, used in the treatment of gout
Certain antibiotics such as tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, fluconazole, miconazole, quinolones, clarithromycin
Levothyroxine
DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:
Take BLISTO TRIO 2MG exactly as prescribed
Your doctor will usually start you on a low dose and increase your dose slowly to control your blood sugar levels
Do not change your dose unless told to do so by your doctor
Swallow the medicine as a whole
Never crush or chew the tablets
If you take more BLISTO TRIO 2MG
If you have taken more BLISTO TRIO 2MG, contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately
If you forget to take BLISTO TRIO 2MG
If you forget to take BLISTO TRIO 2MG, take it as soon as you remember
If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
Do not take two doses at the same time
If you stop taking BLISTO TRIO 2MG
Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor
SIDE EFFECTS OF BLISTO TRIO 2MG:
COMMON
Like all medicine, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Metformin
• Diarrhoea
• Nausea
• Upset stomach
• Voglibose
• VGastro intestinal tract such as soft stools or diarrhoea, flatulence, bloating, abdominal pain or discomfort, abdominal fullness and nausea
• Liver problem
• Central nervous system such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness has been reported
• Endocrine and/or metabolic disorders
RARE
Like all medicine, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Metformin
• Lactic acidosis (a buildup of an acid in the blood) that can cause death
• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
• Glimepiride
• Lower blood sugar than normal (hypoglycaemia)
• Decrease in the number of blood cells such as, Blood platelets (which increases risk of bleeding or bruising)
• White blood cells (which makes infections more likely)
• Red blood cells (which can make the skin pale and cause weakness or breathlessness)
Voglibose
• Voglibose, along with other alpha-glucosidase inhibitors agents, have shown to induce pneumatosis intestinalis in a few cases
VERY RARE
Like all medicine, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Glimepiride
• Allergic reactions
• Abnormal liver function including yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice), impairment of the bile flow (cholestasis), inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) or liver failure
• Feeling or being sick, diarrhoea, feeling full or bloated, and abdominal pain
• Decrease in the amount of sodium level in your blood (shown by blood tests)
STORAGE:
Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
