INTRODUCTION OF ISONORM SR 30MG
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET contains Isosorbide Mononitrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Nitrate vasodilators. It is used to treat chronic angina pectoris and it is not recommended for use in sudden or acute angina. Angina pectoris is defined as a sudden, sharp, severe pain originating from the apex of heart and radiating to the left shoulder. The pain is severe and crushing, and it is characterized by feeling of pressure and suffocation, behind breastbone.
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from lung disease that result in low levels of oxygen in the body (hypoxemia) or cardiac conditions such as low blood volume, low blood pressure, and thickened cardiac muscles (cardiac myopathy) or shock (vascular collapse). Before taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases, glaucoma, thyroid problems, or if you suffer from low body temperature.

It is used to prevent angina pectoris Angina usually feels like a tight pain in the chest, neck or arm area.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women and who are planning for pregnancy unless considered clearly considered necessary. Consult your doctor before taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET.
BREASTFEEDING
USE WITH CAUTION
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET should be used with caution in breast-feeding women due to lack of safety data. Consult your doctor before taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
USE WITH CAUTION
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy after taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET.
ALCOHOL
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET because it might increase the risk of dizziness and sometimes fainting also.
KIDNEY
CONTRAINDICATED
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you had or have or suspect of having disorders of the kidney. Consult your doctor before taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET.
LIVER
CONTRAINDICATED
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you had or have or suspect of having disorders of the liver. Consult your doctor before taking ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET.
ALLERGY
CONTRAINDICATED
Do not take ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET if you are allergic to isosorbide mononitrate or other nitrates (such as isosorbide dinitrate).
LUNGS
CONTRAINDICATED
ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having lung disease resulting in low levels of oxygen in the body (hypoxaemia). Consult your doctor before taking it.
INTERACTIONS
- Sildenafil used for impotence
- Riociguat, used in treating pulmonary hypertension
- Medicines to lower your blood pressure
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (used to treat depression)
- Tricyclic antidepressants (used to treat depression) and neuroleptics (used to treat anxiety)
- Ergotamine used for migraine
- Sapropterin used for phenylketonuria (PKU)
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of ISONORM SR 30MG TABLET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
