About Careprost Eye Drops (3 ml)

Careprost eye drops (3 ml) contain bimatoprost, an eye medicine. It is used to treat elevated or increased pressure in the eye in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. If your eye pressure is too high, it might harm your vision and even cause blindness. It works by allowing fluid to flow from within the eye into the bloodstream.

Uses of Careprost 

• Careprost lower ocular hypertension, which can cause glaucoma.
• It can be used alone or in combination with other drops known as beta-blockers, which help lower pressure.

How does this eye drop work?

Careprost works by increasing the volume of fluids evacuated, lowering the pressure inside the eye. If the excessive pressure is not decreased, it might lead to glaucoma, which can permanently harm your vision. It lowers intraocular pressure (IOP) in humans by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor through the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral channels.

Directions for use

This medication is intended for external use only. Always follow your doctor’s directions when taking this medication. This drug should only be used on the eyes. The recommended dosage is one drop in each eye in the evening, once a day. Gently squeeze the dropper and insert the medication into the lower eyelid. Wipe away any excess liquid. Do not use more than once each day, as the treatment’s effectiveness may be compromised. Remove your contact lenses before using this medication.

Missed Dose

If you forget to put on the Careprost eye drops at the appropriate time, do it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double your dosage to compensate for the missed dose.

Overdose

Since careprost eye drops are meant for external use, there is little risk of adverse effects from an overdose. However, do not exceed the prescribed doses.

Warnings and precautions

• Do not take it if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Bimatoprost or any of the other ingredients in this medication.
• Contact lens wearers should avoid using Careprost eye drops. Before applying eye drops, remove the contact lenses and wait 15 minutes before wearing them. 
• Careprost eye drops can create gradual changes to the length, thickness, pigmentation, and/or number of lashes or hairs. It may also result in the misplaced growth of eyelashes.
• If Careprost eye drops are infected with bacteria on several occasions, it can result in bacterial keratitis. As a result, avoid contacting the dropper’s tip with your eye or any other surface.

Storage Condition

This medication must be stored at temperatures below 20–25 °C and away from direct sunlight and dampness.
