Are allergic to azelaic acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Suffer from
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
EXAZEL 20% is not recommended in children below the age of 12 years
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
EXAZEL 20% has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other skin preparation or especially if you are using
Benzoic acid or Propylene glycol
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Always apply EXAZEL 20% cream exactly as your doctor has told you
For Adults and Adolescents (12 ? 18 years of age)
First thoroughly wash with plain water the whole area to be treated and dry it with some cotton cloth
Start treatment with EXAZEL 20% twice a day
If your skin is very sensitive use EXAZEL 20% once a day, in the evening during
the first week of treatment. Then change to twice a day
If you have acne on your chest and back, as well as your face, adjust the amount of cream and use it accordingly
Wash your hands thoroughly after using EXAZEL 20%
If you use more EXAZEL 20%
If you use too much of EXAZEL 20% cream or if someone else has applied your medicine, talk to your doctor immediately and you may need Medical attention
If you forget to use EXAZEL 20%
If you have forgotten to use your EXAZEL 20% cream take them as soon as possible on the same day. Do not take a double dose
If you stop using EXAZEL 20%
Do not stop using EXAZEL 20% cream without talking to your doctor first
SIDE EFFECTS OF EXAZEL 20%:
Like all medicine, this medicine can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.
SIDE EFFECTS OF EXAZEL 20%:
SERIOUS
• Allergic reaction (e.g. rash)
• Irritations (for example burning and itching – pruritis)
• Pain at the application site
COMMON
• Abnormal redness of the skin (erythema) at the site of application
• Feeling of tingling or numbness (paranesthesia)
• Dry skin at the application site reaction due to an external agent (contact dermatitis), abnormal redness of the skin (erythema); scaling, warmth, skin discoloration at the application site
• Swelling (oedema), scaling, pain
UNCOMMON
• Greasy skin, acne or loss of skin colour, tingling, dermatitis, nettle rash (urticaria)
RARE
• Cracking of the lips, vesicles (small blisters), eczema, ulceration, warmth at the site of application
STORAGE:
Protect from excess heat and light
Keep out of reach of children
Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
Do not use if you notice some visible signs of medicine deterioration
