About Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s

Torkast FX Tablet 10’s belongs to a class of medication called ‘anti-allergic’ medication primarily used to treat allergic symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, congestion, stuffy nose or watery eyes. An allergy is a condition that occurs when the immune system reacts to a foreign substance that is typically not harmful to your body. These foreign substances are known as ‘allergens.’ Some might be allergic to certain foods and seasonal allergies like hay fever, pollen or pet dander. One of the main symptoms of allergy is cough, and it acts as a reflex action in the throat when there is any mucus or foreign irritant entry in the respiratory system.

Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s is a combination of two drugs, namely Montelukast (leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Fexofenadine (antihistamine). Montelukast belongs to the class of leukotriene receptor antagonists that works by blocking the action of chemicals called leukotrienes that are released from lungs causing inflammation (swelling) and increased mucus production and in the airways. Thereby, reduces inflammation, mucus production and narrowing in the airways. Fexofenadine belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. It helps to provide relief from symptoms of allergy such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, and congestion or stiffness.

Take Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s with or without food as prescribed by your doctor and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it. Your doctor will recommend you how often you take Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s based on your medical condition. Some people may experience drowsiness, headache, skin rash, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and fever. Most of these side effects of Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s. Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s is not recommended for children below 12 years of age. If you notice mood changes, causing depression, self-harming thoughts or aggressive behaviour while taking Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s, please consult a doctor immediately. It is advised to maintain 2 hours gap between taking Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s and indigestion remedies containing magnesium and aluminium as taking these medicines at the same time may reduce the absorption of Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s. If you have Lapp lactase deficiency, galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption, fits, kidney, liver or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s may interact with drugs used to treat high lipid levels (gemfibrozil), antibiotics (rifampicin, erythromycin), anticonvulsants (phenytoin, phenobarbital) and antifungals (ketoconazole).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid consuming certain fruit juices such as orange, apple and grapefruit with Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s as it may reduce the effectiveness of Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s. Also, avoid intake of alcohol with Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s as it may increase drowsiness.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have Lapp lactase deficiency, galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption, fits, kidney, liver or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOLCONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Avoid consumption of alcohol with Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s as it may increase drowsiness. Please consult a doctor before consuming alcohol with Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s.
PREGNANCY
The safety of Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s in pregnant women is unknown. Therefore, it is given to pregnant women only if the doctor thinks benefits outweigh risks.
BREAST FEEDING
It is unknown whether Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s is excreted in human milk. It is given to breastfeeding mothers only if the doctor thinks benefits are greater than risks.
DRIVING
Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some people. Therefore, drive only if you are alert after taking Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s.
LIVER
Take Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
KIDNEY
Take Torkast-FX Tablet 10’s with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.

Staying hydrated is vital for those with a cough or cold. Drink liquids at room temperature to get relief from a runny nose, cough, and sneezing.
The immune system is affected by stress and raises the risk of being sick. Do meditation, deep breathing, regular exercise and try progressive muscle relaxation techniques to get relief from stress.
It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. Certain food items are known to cause allergies to you.

Order confirmation

Shipping confirmation

We can ship to your home address or to your work if you prefer.

Registered airmail is the preferred shipping method as it is more secure and less likely to be stolen or lost. It does require a signature on delivery. If you are not available at the time of delivery a notice will be left to advise of the attempted delivery and how to contact the post office to arrange a redelivery or at which post office it is be stored for collection. They will hold them there for 4 weeks before they are returned to us.

PO Boxes and APO Addresses

We can deliver to PO Boxes and APO addresses as long as the delivery method. On your My Account page, simply set your Primary Shipping Address to your PO Box or APO address as required.

Customs

We are based off shore in India and your order is treated by your local Customs as imported goods. When your parcel passes through Customs there might be a delay while they process your order. We suggest that you always allow extra time and order ahead so you are not inconvenienced during this phase. The delay can be just a few days to 3 weeks in extreme cases before they contact you.

Delivery times

We promptly ship most orders within 24-48 hours of you placing it. The delivery times are entirely due to the postal or courier service. The table above shows the typical delivery times. Please be aware that if customs hold your order for pending import duties, they could hold your order for 3-21 days prior to contacting you. If your order hasn’t arrived within the standard delivery times above, please allow an additional 7 days for delivery PRIOR to contacting us to establish if your order is simply delayed with delivery; held at customs or indeed lost.
